HOW MUCH DOES WINDOW FILM/TINT COST?

The price and cost of window film installation vary depending on the products and range. You can find cheap and cheerful window films if you’re on a budget or you can choose higher range window films that will provide better features/colours/quality. Generally, the cost of installing window films/tints are based on the below factors:

YOUR CAR TYPE/MODEL

Shapes and builds of all cars are different as some cars are larger, hence more materials are needed. Usually, a rough price approximate will be quoted based on materials and labour cost. For example, some cars have curved and steep windows. Those cars will require more time and skills. Hence, a higher price. Usually, the amount depends largely on the area of the windows.

TYPES OF WINDOW/TINTING FILM

There are many types of window films. The possibilities are endless! Again, the price depends on what you choose. Different price means the performance, features and quality of the film will also be different. It doesn’t mean cheaper window films are bad. We offer cheap and good quality window films as well. However, you may see bubbles, color shifting and poor heat rejection within a period of time.

PERFORMANCE WARRANTY

Performance warranties for Sun Barrier UV400 window films vary depending on service providers. It is better to enquire with us or our dealers before purchasing. Warranties are offered depending on the range of window films. The damages covered by warranties are also important. Sun Barrier UV400 window film warranty covers bubbling, peeling, cracking and discolouration.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO TINT ONE CAR?

Usually, the average time required to tint a two or four door car is around 2.o – 2.5 hours (cleaning and drying are included in this time frame). Some might take longer and some can be done within an hour depending on the skills of the installer.

ARE WINDOW/TINTED FILMS INSTALLED INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

Usually, window tint is installed/applied inside instead of outside.

DOES THE WINDOW FILM/TINT HAVE TO BE REALLY DARK TO BE EFFECTIVE?

People believe that darker window films are more effective. That is not the truth. There are different window films available depending on their ability to reject solar heat and light transmission. The color is not the only factor that determines the film’s performance and efficiency. For example: 60%+ clear Sun Barrier UV400 window film can reject up to 99% infrared, 100% ultraviolet and up to 80% solar heat.

HOW LONG WILL WINDOW TINTING FILM LAST?

Sun Barrier UV400 window film has up to eight (5) years warranty. This brand can last more than 10 years, but most of the time it’s depending on factors such as installation skills and how you take care of it.

WHAT IF MY CAR WINDOWS ARE ALREADY TINTED? CAN IT BE REMOVED? CAN I INSTALL THE NEW ONE ON TOP OF THE EXISTING FILM?

All window films/tints can be replaced. Depending on what film you’ve chosen, some can be installed on top of your existing film but it depends highly on whether your existing film is still usable or not. Eg: It is not recommended to install new window films on top of your existing film if your existing film has faded and has bubbles. We always recommend our customers to remove their existing films before installing new ones. Do note that removal of existing film will have labour cost surcharge.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER MY CAR WINDOWS ARE TINTED?

We advise customers to not roll down their windows on the first three days to avoid peeling/bubbling. Some are recommended to keep the windows down for a week to ensure that the window films/tints adhere properly onto the windows. Please take note that the condition/quality of your window films after tinting are also dependent on weather/installation skills. We recommend you to choose window films that will provide warranty so that you can have a peace of mind and assurance.
